On arrival at your chosen destination the Sunsail's friendly teams will provide a technical brief on your yacht and cruising area and help you plan your itinerary. They can provision your yacht in advance and help is just a VHF or phone call away at any time.
Charter with a skipper
Discovering a new country, island or coast by yacht is an unmatched vacation experience that can be enjoyed by all. If you don’t have enough experience to sail by yourself, this magical experience isn’t out of reach. If you are chartering a yacht of over 30ft you can hire a Sunsail Skipper to take the helm while you enjoy the surroundings.
Your skipper will take care of the day-to-day running of your yacht, leaving you free to swim, snorkel and relax. Call upon your skipper’s knowledge of local attractions, restaurants and the most sheltered anchorages. If you want to get involved then your skipper will be more than happy to show you the ropes. When your skipper is on board, they are responsible for the safety of the yacht and crew. (skipper requires own cabin)

Determining Your Experience Level
Before you set sail, it's important to determine what experience level you feel comfortable with. Cruising areas vary in terms of wind strength and sailing conditions, which can change from season to season.
You can use this as a rough guide, but to decide which cruising areas best match your experience, just e-mail us or give us a call. We'll be happy to walk through your sailing history with you and recommend the best places for you to enjoy.
What experience do I need?
The good news is, you don't need any formal certification. Just experience sailing on a similar sized boat, within about 5-7 feet, will be suitable. Based on the type of sailing conditions you're used to (i.e. body of water, tidal vs. non-tidal, long or short distances, etc.), we'll help you pick the best destination for you.
Wind conditions
Wind strengths/direction shown within this website are those typically encountered during the sailing season. Please bear in mind that even in a Level 1 areas there is always the possibility of strong winds on occasion so please use this information for guidance only.
Anchoring and mooring
Sunsail's local base staff are more than happy to advise on local mooring and berthing practices. They will be delighted to refresh you on a particular mooring technique if you're a little out of practice.

Provisioning
Good food can be as high on the list as good weather when it comes to a charter holiday and Sunsail aims to make sure this happens. Sunsail's provisioning system has been designed to make your charter as simple as possible. Cruise.BG will help you fill in the form before you set off, and when you arrive at your yacht all your provisions are waiting for you.
This service will guide you around Sunsail's provisioning store and allow you build your provisioning list by placing the NEW provisioning packages or single items into a shopping basket. When you are happy with your order you can then confirm your order for processing.
Provisioning with Sunsail allows you to:

• Plan your menus to fit your sailing itinerary
• Avoid the hassle of re-provisioning once you’ve set sail

Arrive on your yacht to beers chilling in the fridge and tasty snacks on board to enjoy as you watch the sun set on the start of your holiday. Order Last Orders pack and get beers and nibbles for your first night. (1 pack will feed four and consists of a bottle of wine, beer, soft drinks and nibbles.)
EARLY RISERS
Combine this pack with the Last Orders options and you can have a leisurely morning on your first day as well as a late night! Early risers contains breakfast essentials such as coffee, tea, milk and croissants. 1 pack will feed 4.
GET GOING
With the purchase of the Get Going package, you have the essentials you need upon arrival of your yacht. Basic cooking supplies, dried goods and condiments, breakfast and snack items, water, fresh dairy and produce will await you, allowing you to experience the flare of local markets for your meats, vegetables and regional delicacies.
Caribbean Only – Sunsail has introduced two extra special provisioning packages to all Caribbean bases.
DINE ASHORE
Make the most of your time in the Caribbean by sampling some of the delicious local cuisine. The Dine Ashore option supplies you with all breakfasts, all lunches, snacks and enough provisions for one evening meal aboard; leaving you free to dine ashore on the other nights.
DINE AFLOAT
If you are a true water baby and love to spend every minute of your holiday time on deck, then the Dine Afloat option is perfect for you. Supplying you with enough provisions for every breakfast, lunch and 3 evening meals, along with a number of snacks – you will hardly ever need to set foot ashore. Please Note:
All packages need to be ordered at least 14 days prior to departure, with the exception of Dine Ashore and Dine Afloat, which will need to be ordered at least 4 weeks prior to departure.
Flotilla Pre - Provisioning
Now you can have the option to order Provisioning Packages alongside the existing single item stock lists. These Packages can be booked and paid for in advance of your holiday, so all you need to do is arrive on your fully stocked yacht and head of on your sailing adventures!

Sunsail Four Hour Guarantee
By maintaining the yachts to the highest standards Sunsail ensures that you make the most of your vacation time on the water. They strengthen this promise with the Four Hour Guarantee.
Should you experience a breakdown/technical problem during your charter, Sunsail will complete repairs within four (4) hours of notification of their nearest base, or they guarantee a credit towards a future Sunsail product, based on the daily flight exclusive charter fee.
The Sunsail Four Hour Guarantee covers all equipment considered essential to the operation of the yacht
- Engine
- Transmission
- Windlass
- Sails
- Standing and running rigging
- Battery and alternator
Excluded from the Sunsail Four Hour Guarantee are cellular phones, VHF, refrigeration, air conditioning, CD player, marine toilets, water pump, dinghy and outboard, depth and speed instruments and any other items that do not prevent yacht being operated.
Please note that if you plan to head outside the defined Sunsail sailing area you will be asked to sign a waiver and will not be covered by the Sunsail Four Hour Guarantee when you are sailing in these waters. Breakdowns occurring outside the defined sailing hours (0800hrs and 1700hrs) or due to user negligence, bad weather and Force Majeure are also excluded from The Sunsail Four Hour Guarantee.
The time of the breakdown will start from the point when direct contact is made between the charterer and Sunsail, and you must contact the base at the time of the problem or dissatisfaction. If Sunsail is unable to resolve the problem within four hours, they will guarantee a credit towards a future Sunsail product. The Sunsail Base Manager and the party leader must agree on the time lost and complete a guarantee form prior to departure from the marina.
Sunsail’s dedicated staff will offer every assistance they can to ensure that your sailing vacation is a fun-filled success. So if you encounter any difficulties at all during your yacht charter, please do not hesitate to call us with any concerns.

You can select from yachts with double staterooms and private heads, spacious saloons and cooling fans. All have superior long-running refrigeration, custom-made biminis for maximum sun protection and opening windows and hatches to catch the cooling breeze.
Monohull Yachts
The yachts in Sunsail's monohull fleet have been very carefully chosen for their suitability to the charter experience. So wherever you choose to vacation, you can be confident your yacht will have all the facilities, performance and equipment you need to really enjoy your trip.
The fleet comprises a wealth of options for you, from the smaller 30ft yachts up to the larger, more luxurious models over 50ft. Should you wish to charter a larger yacht , you can choose between the Beneteau 50, Oceanis 523 and Sun Odyssey 52.2.
At the smaller end of the scale, Sunsail has two 30ft models which feature tiller steering, ideal for those used to dinghy sailing and to maximize the cockpit space. The rest of the yachts over 32ft have either single or twin wheels.
